2. Main Wheel Tire -- CHECK for proper inflation and security

4. Fuel Sump -- DRAIN small amount, CHECK FUEL, CHECK CLOSED
5. Cabin Air Intake -- CHECK for blockage

NOSE
1. Static Source Opening (both sides of fuselage)-- CHECK for blockage
2. Propeller and spinner -- CHECK for nicks, security, and oil leaks
3. Landing and Taxi Lights-- CHECK for condition and cleanliness
4. Nose Wheel Strut and Tire -- CHECK for proper inflation
5. Engine Oil Level -- CHECK, do not operate with less than 6 quarts. Fill to 8 quarts for extended flight.
6. Induction Air Filter -- CHECK cleanliness
7. Alternator belt -- CHECK for tightness

LEFT WING
1. Main Wheel Tire -- CHECK for proper inflation and security
2. Brakes -- CHECK for cracks and security
3. Fuel Sump -- DRAIN small amount, CHECK FUEL, CHECK CLOSED
4. Cabin Air Intake -- CHECK for blockage
LEFT WING Leading Edge
1. Pitot Tube Cover -- REMOVE and CHECK opening for blockage
2. Stall Warning Vane -- CHECK for freedom of movement and activation
3. Fuel Bay Vent Opening -- CHECK for blockage
LEFT WING Trailing Edge
1. Flap -- CHECK freedom of movement and security
2. Aileron -- CHECK freedom of movement and security
3. Position Light -- RED

CABIN
1. Fuel Reservoir -- DRAIN for 4 seconds, CHECK CLOSED
2. Master Switch -- ON
3. Radios -- ON and WORKING, listen for ATIS, get CLEARANCE (CRADS) (on handheld radio)
4. Radios -- SET

6. Lights (all), Pitot Heat -- ON and WORKING
7. Lights, Avionics Power Switch, Pitot Heat -- OFF
8. Master Switch -- OFF

6. Mixture -- ADVANCE to obtain 4-6 gph fuel flow, then return to IDLE CUT-OFF.

9. Ignition Switch -- START, RELEASE when engine starts
10. Mixture -- ADVANCE slowly
11. Throttle -- SET to desired idle speed

    a. Magnetos -- CHECK (RPM drop should not exceed 150 RPM on either magneto or 50 RPM differential between magnetos)
    b. Propeller -- CYCLE from high to low RPM; RETURN to high RPM (full forward)

    f.  Suction Gage -- CHECK (4.6 to 5.4 In H.G.)

5. Climb Speed -- 75-85 MPH (85 KIAS Vy, 74 KIAS Vx)
6. Brakes -- APPLY momentarily when airborne
7. Landing Gear -- RETRACT in climb out
8. Wing Flaps -- RETRACT if extended
Maximum Performance Takeoff
1. Wing Flaps -- 10
2. Brakes -- APPLY
3. Power -- FULL THROTTLE and 2700 RPM
4. Mixture -- LEAN for field elevation per fuel flow placard.
5. Brakes -- RELEASE
6. Elevator Control -- LIFT NOSE WHEEL at 60 MPH
7. Climb Speed -- 71 MPH (Until all obstacles are cleared) then set per max climb checklist

3. Mixture -- FULL RICH or LEAN to 13.0 gph fuel flow.
4. Cowl Flaps -- OPEN as required
MAX PERFORMANCE CLIMB
1. Airspeed -- 95 MPH at Sea Level to 91 MPH at 10,000 feet
2. Power -- FULL Throttle and 2700 RPM
3. Mixture -- LEAN for altitude per fuel flow placard.
4. Cowl Flaps -- Full OPEN

CRUISE
1. Power -- 15-25 INCHES Hg., 2100-2500 RPM (no more than 75%)
2. Mixture -- LEAN for cruise fuel flow
3. Stabilator and Rudder Trim -- ADJUST

4. Propeller -- LOW RPM (full aft)
5. Seats, Belts, Harnesses - ADJUST and LOCK
6. Airspeed -- 85 MPH
7. Wing Flaps -- 30 if electrical power is available, approach at 75 MPH
6. Master Switch -- OFF
7. Doors -- UNLATCH PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN
8. Touchdown -- SLIGHTLY TAIL LOW
9. Brakes -- APPLY HEAVILY
10. If terrain is soft, plan wheels up landing as follows:
    a. Airspeed -- 85 MPH, gear and flaps retracted
    b. Wing Flaps -- EXTEND as necessary within gliding distance of field, approach at 75 MPH
    c. Master Switch -- OFF
    d. Doors -- UNLATCH PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN
    e. Touchdown -- SLIGHTLY TAIL LOW
    f. Attempt to hold tail low throughout slide.
Precautionary with Engine Power
1. Before Landing Checklist -- PERFORM
2. Airspeed -- 75 MPH
3. Wing Flaps -- 20
4. Selected Field -- FLY OVER, noting obstructions and terrain, then retract flaps upon reaching a safe altitude and airspeed. If field is smooth plan wheels down landing, if field is soft or rough, plan wheels up landing.
5. On downwind leg turn off all switches except ignition and master.
6. Doors -- UNLATCH PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN
7. Wing Flaps -- 30
8. Airspeed -- 75 MPH
9. Master Switch -- OFF
10. Ignition Switch -- OFF
11. Touchdown -- SLIGHTLY TAIL LOW
12. Brakes -- APPLY HEAVILY
Ditching
1. Radio -- TRANSMIT MAYDAY on 121.5 and SQUAWK 7700
2. Heavy Objects (in baggage area) -- SECURE or JETTISON
3. Approach -- High Winds, Heavy Seas -- INTO THE WIND
Light Winds, Heavy Swells -- PARALLEL TO SWELLS
4. Wing Flaps -- 30
5. Landing Gear -- RETRACTED
5. Power -- ESTABLISH 300 FT/MIN DESCENT AT 70 MPH
6. Cabin Doors -- UNLATCH
7. Life Vests -- Put ON, DO NOT inflate.
8. Touchdown -- LEVEL ATTITUDE AT 300 FT/MIN DESCENT
9. Face -- CUSHION at touchdown with folded coat
10. Expect a second impact for the airplane may skip after touchdown.
11. Airplane -- EVACUATE through cabin doors. If necessary, open windows and flood cabin to equalize pressure so doors can be opened.
